Lutheran Church Meeting

I was very happy to participate in the Kawage Lutheran church meeting Aug. 25th.

Our youth from Takarazuka church joined me, and we were blessed by your message and singing. It was also a privilege to wash the feet of these men who walked for Jesus all the way from Tokyo, praying for revival in each district. We continue to pray that God will bind our hearts together in his love, so that the unbelieving world will see our unity and give their hearts to Jesus.

Yours in Christ,

Week 4

Dear family and friends,
Praise the Lord! We finally did it. Four weeks, 120 walkers, and 54 churches, all with no accidents, sickness, mishaps, or unbearably hot days! We thank the Lord and give Him glory for this once in a lifetime trip. Or perhaps it won't be once in a lifetime since people are already asking me when we're going to walk again and where! We all came home with dark tans and were able to make our rounds of numerous super sentos (public baths) which was a treat.
Summing up the past four weeks, I'm glad to say that it wasn't just a personal trip for me but a trip for many people whom God had in mind. Neither was it just a historical visit to the 53 stations but a visit to 54 churches with the result that many were encouraged to share the Gospel where they are and to pray for more laborers to be sent out into the field. Our interdenominational core group, which included members from the Japan Church of Christ, Lutheran, Baptist, and non-denominational churches, made a natural bridge between all the churches we visited and helped to promote unity among them. We are grateful to the Lord for providentially bringing us together.
We were also overwhelmed by the amazing hospitality showered on us wherever we went and were amazed at how much our walk was an encouragement to the churches. At one church the pastor wanted to wash our feet which was a very touching gesture and an older lady at another church said, "You are walking on our behalf," and treated us royally. Altogether we gave out around 3000 pieces of Gospel literature while walking, either personally or in post boxes along the way. Please pray with us that God's Word will bear much fruit. We concluded our walk with a praise and testimony meeting on August 1st in Tokyo which was attended by 17 people, many of whom had walked with us. We are looking forward to what the Lord will do in the future. Thank you so very much for all of your prayers!
